Each piece entrusted to the workshop is unique. Observation and analysis are necessary in order to assure preservation of the piece for the coming years.
After a meticulous examination, a precise diagnosis is made. First of all, the adapted treatment has to be defined :
Preservation allows protection and consists of stopping and preventing the deterioration process . The fragile areas will be often fixed on a textile support.This work concerns more particularly museums and institutions and strictly respects the business ethics rules fixed by the Venice charter.
Restoration or reproduction including re-weaving and re-knotting of missing or damaged areas. It is offered to individuals and collectors.
Basic maintenance is also essential for the preservation of your textiles.
Ex : repair of fringes and side-cords for carpets, construction of hanging battens for tapestries..
